Queen Mary 2’s New Solo Cabins

The Queen Mary 2 was recently “remastered” and part of the $132 Million spent on the refurbishment was the additions of 15 single outside cabins.  I decided to do an analysis to determine cost as compared to an oceanview single with a supplement and the same category of oceanview booked as double occupancy, options attached.

I chose a Canada/New England sailing next fall and priced out the above options.

  • Category KC solo cabin $3,046,  178 sq ft
  • Category EF with single supplement $2,997, 159 sq ft
  • Category EF double occupancy $3,576. (1,788. Per person)

For a solo traveler the new single cabins do offer a good value, although still much more than double occupancy rates.

Description

At any time of the day your luxury single stateroom provides a welcome enclave of comfort and good taste. Wrap yourself in the soft bathrobe, ease into your slippers, then settle down to a film on your TV. Our turndown service sets the tone for a comfortable night’s sleep. Guests dine at a reserved table for either early or late dining in the Britannia Restaurant.

The diagrams and pictures of staterooms shown are examples only, and individual staterooms may vary.
