The Queen Mary 2 was recently “remastered†and part of the $132 Million spent on the refurbishment was the additions of 15 single outside cabins. I decided to do an analysis to determine cost as compared to an oceanview single with a supplement and the same category of oceanview booked as double occupancy, options attached.
I chose a Canada/New England sailing next fall and priced out the above options.
- Category KC solo cabin $3,046, Â 178 sq ft
- Category EF with single supplement $2,997, 159 sq ft
- Category EF double occupancy $3,576. (1,788. Per person)
For a solo traveler the new single cabins do offer a good value, although still much more than double occupancy rates.
